Parent FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)

How can I get involved with school life?

·         Think about getting involved with the Parent’s Association. This group meets about six times a year to discuss developments in school and  to raise funds. You are welcome to attend meetings and take part in decision making and volunteering. You can find out lots more about the PA by reading our section of the school website (www.penicuik.info) or by contacting Murray Cole (Parents’ Association Chair) on 01968 672400. Our meetings are in school on the dates listed on our webpages and in the school calendar.

What is the 50/50 club?

·         The 50/50 club is the main source of fundraising organised by the PHS Parent's Association. You pay multiples of £5 per month by standing order for a number which is entered into a monthly draw. Half of the money collected is prize money, the other half is funds for the school. Recently, equipment for the senior common rooms, electronic equipment, and funding for pupil events have all been met  by the 50/50 club profits. People with more than one child at school sometimes take out a membership for each child.
